Love Through the Fog

Love comes through even when it looks bad.

Letters left for you to find,
happy words, quotes that shine,
hidden in your left pocket,
love written down for you.

These things I thought,
feelings I shared,
memories I cherish;
is this what love is?

I tried my hardest,
I cried my loudest,
with you I am true,
and you are too.

Moments spent in bad ways,
never understanding the days,
I wonder, what can I do
but I feel helpless too.

Nevermore, I am only human,
I trip, run into walls, fall down,
many mistakes made
but greater memories kept.

Staying positive through and through,
but really I don't know how;
I fake it till I make it
but the slipper falls and I brake it.

No perfect princess tale here,
only heartfelt and heartache,
disappointment in your eyes...
or perhaps much worse.

People only show one side,
either, or, you know all mine.
I can't help it, it's terrible,
everyone has a dark side.

I'm cruel sometimes,
my eyes alone are daggers,
words I say burned to you,
but the worst is still to come.

Days of silence, with no reason,
tears often flow down my cheeks,
my emotions, actions, make no sense.
I love you but I'm not always strong.

Things can't be explained,
we are who we are;
no changing... who I am...
the cruelest of them all.

I see your smile and I smile
your love is so bright,
the energy you hold is so powerful,
I cannot compete, I don't know how.

A lifetime promised,
I intend to keep,
forever together,

Sometimes its hard and harder,
days of gray and quietness,
my greatest apologies Nick,

I say "everything is your fault,

but its always worth it.
