FIGHT BACKA Poem by Scarlett RaeFight your demons!
Shriveled down in a corner,
I felt so small and lonely, my past scars crowded me, I couldn't fight the mind, no forgetting of what happened, theres no changing the past. Only way to live is learn about the things that haunt me. Kicking and screaming often I felt so useless but I never stopped trying. My soft voice overheard, sweet soul trampled on, I didn't stop these things. Good times would fly by and thoughts rushed back my memories never left. I was always a wreck trying to cover up scars, feeling that changed things, people who couldn't see... left. Always smiling, so happy, the side people saw, the only one I would show. Life is good, you would know. You smiled and laughed with more intent than me. I see the dark shadows, your eyes carry a past, just as anyone around. As compelling as my story is so is yours. The jokester and charmer, the one I loved from the start was lost in shadows too. Seaking, always for the light. I learned hope is the light. You had it. I helped show it. "Scars don't control you neither should memories" the words I'll never forget when you told me to FIGHT BACK. © 2015 Scarlett RaeReviews
