Power Outage

Power Outage

A Poem by Scarlett Secret
"

This is my first poem ever! I wrote it the summer before my Freshman year of high school. Enjoy!

"

The storm rages on

I smile as darkness surrounds me

There's no place I'd rather be

Here with the power gone

I don't need light to find my way

I sit in the floor as I usually do

Remembering the things I've been through

I can't hold my feelings at bay

The gleaming object is held in my hand so tight

My release takes away some of the pain

as i sit and listen to the pouring rain

I know its wrong but it feels so right

I tried to protect him that day

His screams still haunt me at night

I loved him so much and he felt so right

but his drunk father took him away

the darkness makes me smile

The fountain of red comes fast

This time will be my last

I'll only be here for a little while

Here I sit with my plan made

Red flows faster and pain starts to disappear

I smile because the end is near

In the storms darkness I finally fade

I'm coming, My Love
