valentine's fool

valentine's fool

A Poem by Mason Vail
"

obviously, I am incapable of writing anything worthwhile on demand, no matter how much I would like to

"
how do I love thee?
let me count the ways... oh, nuts
I've run out of space

Valentine's haiku
shouldn't this be easier?
too few syllables

for love poetry
I should have used a sonnet
or perhaps a play

seventeen word beats
cannot express all my love
but plenty of sass

so much for romance
alas, you married a fool
but a fool in love

I love you, I love
you, I love you, I love you
worst haiku ever?

the harder I try
the more painful it becomes
better luck next year

look on the bright side
it could have been so much worse
if it were a song

in a perfect world
I could express all you mean
but words fall so short

what is it I love?
how can I sum it all up?
only one word: You.
