Young love

Young love

A Story by SimplyDisastrous
"

my generation's idea of love is really stupid.

"
He'll tell you that you're pretty, he'll tell you that you're his all
Then he turns around, steps back, and watches as you fall.
He'll tell you that he loves you, that he will NEVER leave
But yet, faithful is something that he will never be.
So let this be a lesson to all those stupid girls in love
Because he is NOT the angel you thought he was that fell from above.

You've captured the feeling of disgust and almost a dark sense of amusement in this hosrt, but powerful poem. Young love in teenagers is usually nothing more than "puppy love", which they swear on everything is true love, until one of them leaves or cheats, and then they realize they weren't truly in love. Being truly in love hurts more than any short, "puppy love" relationship - you have to work hard for it.

Very, very well done. Bravo.

The lament of a woman over a parasitic 'lover' is always saddening, and is a frequent subject in poetry. However, you managed to capture the feelings of betrayal and rage surely experienced by every teenager, and give it a form quite different from what is usually seen peppering sites such as these; somehow, your words and rhymes seem genuine, knowing, and bleak, giving this known piece a flavour that is forboding, but quite delectable. Each top line is in direct contrast to the one below it, giving the whole poem a jaded, almost mocking voice, showing the reader that yours is not a space for sewing seeds of inspiration or rebuilding. The title, simply titled 'Young Love' gives the impression that all young love is destined to turn out this way, further supplementing the already dark atmosphere, and driving your point to a place closer than home. A prime examle of why I've friended you.

Wisdom is your words. True love is time and real emotion built by friendship/kindness. You must celebrate together and cry together to built a love. Words are meaningless. Few Angel upon this planet. Your words about being honest and faithful is fact. Truth is the key to love and a real relationship. Thank you for a excellent poem.
