We Weren't Meant for Salvation

We Weren't Meant for Salvation

A Poem by Scarlet Jackal

When life itself holds your own,
you inevitably crumble and drift away
Have they not awoken?
Or do they await the day of reckoning?

How long have I been here?
A spirit to dwell in isolation
until we collapse
Reaching for no light
and hoping for no escape
We truly belong below
Six feet in cold soil
To only dread and fall forever

About
Who am I? It depends on which one of us you are asking. I am a lover, a poet, a man of romantic ideals to never be fulfilled. I see many things, I count many stars but I never reach what it is my own.. more..
