My Story

My Story

A Poem by Margarette
"

The opposite of the happy ending is not actually the sad ending--the sad ending is sometimes the happy ending. The opposite of the happy ending is actually the unsatisfying ending.

"

I wonder if God is writing our stories

Will He let me live the way I want to?

I'm sure it will be different

I can't paint the door of tomorrow

We all seek for a happy ending

And pretend that our wishes come true

The chapters in our lives are not yet finished

As we wake up to turn the page and start over

We can change it anytime

Until the day when there will be no ink

The final page has been reached

And our journey ends

I'm determined to reach that moment

When I could trick God into writing my own story

Everyone says I'm making a huge mistake

But there's no harm in trying something new

The sin of this freedom I weigh

Would seem too distant from everyone

How to find the ends of the darkness

And meet the rarity of light within

The will to my fortress

Who are they to blame me?

They're just fooling themselves

I'm too important to notice them

I'll make the loneliness disappear from my sight

I'll walk through the road without a fight

I'll search the meaning of my life

And I'll end it just the way I've liked

Let me draw my future

And see things that others don't

Let me end this story

And prepare me for what comes next

My Book

My life is like an open book.
Open it and take a look.
Take a peep at this surprise.
Reading it would not be wise.
Turn it slowly page by page.
Don’t be surprised by the rage.
Just a warning, tears have been shed
For all the blood I have bled.
Keep reading, please don’t quit.
It is sad, I will admit.
You will find a little joy.
But that is just a slight decoy.
Inside my book is a lot of pain.
Happiness is hard to attain.
Don’t stop, don’t put it down.
I’m sorry if you’re wearing a frown.
Congratulation, my friend.
You have finally reached the end.
Slam close the book and walk away.
I should have known you wouldn’t stay.
I just wish someone would discover
That you cant judge a book by its cover.

Nice poem. I like also the note in form of Dumeir's work.

Everyone is in his own journey we called life....trying to find freedom and contentment. Tears and laughter are always part of life...it's not joy or sadness alone. We determine when we are happy when we know how it is to be sad....

Nice reflective piece. Keep going.

A very good story in the poem. I like the desire to end a old story and begin a new one. I like the positive ending. Some hope in the poem. Thank you for the excellent poem.

i love this kind of poems which have great deal of mind provoking. God writes our stories of course and thats why there is reward and punishment in the dayafter. i have a similar poem like yours(my book) which is(mr fate)..

Very intelligent musings going on in this write, much food for thought here. I have no clue who writes our story, when we think we have a handle on life, something ultimately comes along to trip us up and give us new challenges. Much enjoyed this one Margarette.
