Love With a Twist

Love With a Twist

A Poem by Margarette
"

SOMETIMES, Someone Says Something really SMALL but it FITS Right into this EMPTY SPACE… in the heart…

Everytime I close my eyes

I always have this dream

Where I could be with you

And you would love me too

Every single day of my life

From that time I laid my eyes on you

I can’t help but have this feeling

Building up inside me ready to burst

I always look forward

To Tuesdays and Fridays at school

Because then, I’ll get the chance to see you

At that same spot with your friends

Then I wish nights would have been longer

So I would forever repeat those wonders

Of the magic within my fantasy

Where reality is most unlikely

Just a glimpse of your face

And a glance to your side

Makes me the happiest person on Earth

A moment waiting for remembrance

I do not know how it’d come to this

You are two years younger than me

An uncertainty I’ve had

Although age does not make a difference in love

I’m a science major

You’re a literature student

Can we blend together in terms of intellect?

Put one and one to make two sets of minds?

A lot of worries are ahead

So little time to spare

I wonder if in another space and time

Will it be you who’s living my life?

I try to hide this agitation

Whenever you pass me by

The way I try to look at you

Cannot hide these thoughts I’ve had

One time, when I was eating

With my best friend at the café

How can I ever forget that special day?

Where you finally look at my way

But then again, doubts and anxiety overtook me

Maybe he knew, what should I do?

He’ll certainly avoid me in the future

Sounds like a stalker thing to do

I didn’t look at him

For fear of whatever lies ahead

That’s when my best friend told me

What I unexpectedly wanted to hear

“I think he was waiting

For you to return that glance

Maybe, confirm something else

Like admiration which a crush would do

The wisdom behind those words

Never seem to fail me at that

And I hope, one day, I’ll have the courage

To face my true love and tell him what I feel

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Author's Note

Margarette
So it's a little early for Valentine's Day. But hey, it doesn't matter if you're in love, right? I'm just going through a little bit of anxiety whenever I see my crush and I hope I won't do crazy things in front of him. Hope this gets away anytime now. Feel free to share your thoughts about what you're feeling when the person you love/like is just a short distance from you.:>

Thank you for reading! I'm glad you like it.
what an epic! it floods with love and passion in empty hearts like a river flooding with cold sweet water in the middle of the desert at a summer's hot noon..

Thank you! haha.. Love your imagery of love and devotion.
In every year of school I attended, I wound up in at at least one class with a girl that would catch my eye and leave me smitten for the duration of that year...in two of those years I actually found the nerve to spill my guts to the girl in question only to find out that she was not single, but in both cases, I never seen them with another guy anywhere else, even around town...but that's me, and I often made myself look really ridiculous in the company of these girls so I was probably asking for it haha Your situation sounds different though...I never had one of those cafe episodes to derive a feeling of hope from...I have hope for you...anyways I only mention this stuff in response to your comments haha The poem itself is a wonderfully crafted piece and full of charm...well done, and good luck :)

Very typical and generic topic, but you've managed to breathe a spark of originality into it, so well done for that. I like your imagery the quality of internal dialogue that's present in this poem, it fits very well with the content and has that sort of hopeful/waiting vibe I think you were going for. You describe very well the angst all sorts of young people have at college, especially around this time of year, and it feels like you were writing from your heart. One thing I'd say would be to just go back over it and think about if it's what you really wanted to come across with this piece, because in some parts it felt as though your heart wasn't really in it, to be frank.
It's still a very good effort on your part, well done.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice and I would thin, if he is a lit major, then this should accidentally (on purpose) fall into his hands. Annonymously of course, but he should be able to figure it out. Nice.
