Love With a Twist

SOMETIMES, Someone Says Something really SMALL but it FITS Right into this EMPTY SPACE… in the heart…

Everytime I close my eyes

I always have this dream

Where I could be with you

And you would love me too

 

Every single day of my life

From that time I laid my eyes on you

I can’t help but have this feeling

Building up inside me ready to burst

 

I always look forward

To Tuesdays and Fridays at school

Because then, I’ll get the chance to see you

At that same spot with your friends

 

Then I wish nights would have been longer

So I would forever repeat those wonders

Of the magic within my fantasy

Where reality is most unlikely

 

Just a glimpse of your face

And a glance to your side

Makes me the happiest person on Earth

A moment waiting for remembrance

 

I do not know how it’d come to this

You are two years younger than me

An uncertainty I’ve had

Although age does not make a difference in love

 

I’m a science major

You’re a literature student

Can we blend together in terms of intellect?

Put one and one to make two sets of minds?

 

A lot of worries are ahead

So little time to spare

I wonder if in another space and time

Will it be you who’s living my life?

 

I try to hide this agitation

Whenever you pass me by

The way I try to look at you

Cannot hide these thoughts I’ve had

 

One time, when I was eating

With my best friend at the café

How can I ever forget that special day?

Where you finally look at my way

 

But then again, doubts and anxiety overtook me

Maybe he knew, what should I do?

He’ll certainly avoid me in the future

Sounds like a stalker thing to do

 

I didn’t look at him

For fear of whatever lies ahead

That’s when my best friend told me

What I unexpectedly wanted to hear

 

“I think he was waiting

For you to return that glance

Maybe, confirm something else

Like admiration which a crush would do

 

The wisdom behind those words

Never seem to fail me at that

And I hope, one day, I’ll have the courage

To face my true love and tell him what I feel

So it's a little early for Valentine's Day. But hey, it doesn't matter if you're in love,right? I'm just going through a little bit of anxiety whenever I see my crush and I hope I won't do crazy things in front of him. Hope this gets away anytime now. Feel free to share your thoughts about what you're feeling when the person you love/like is just a short distance from you.:>

Hmmm, I think so too since I am a science major taking literature as a hobby. :)
I like to think of it that way where opposites will always attract each other not just charges but also in love. Quite cool!

We have and will go through those stages in life where we get so giddy and butterflies in our stomachs over our crushes and feel so awkward. But things will flow well if you both talk to each other and give it a chance, and if it doesnt, then maybe you just made a new friend or study buddy at that? People put too much pressure on relationships these days, and if they see someone they automatically crush and feel like they wanna date them, there are more things to being around others then just dating them. People are people and everyone deserves a chance at friendship if it isn't there chemistry wise. I really enjoyed your poem and i think a lot of people could relate to it. we must all have courage to stand up, and if you really do strongly feel about someone, you will eventually make it happen. today in society, guys have the pressure on them to always be the ones to do the talking, so be brave and be a strong women and go for it if you feel that it is there. sorry for the ramble, but sometimes i feel strongly about things like this :)

Yes, I think so too. It's nice to know each other well before going to have romantic relationships or whatsoever. The thing is, it's hard for me to have long conversation with someone without feeling awkward because of the long pauses in between. Nowadays, there are even women who propose to men and it is weird since we're used to the other way around. I would like to talk to him but he's always surrounded by his buddies and it's difficult to just snatch him up from them. Plus, I think he's the shy type of person. ;)

Hard to express real feelings and desire. Always the fear of disappointment or no time. I tell the young people. Have some fun before you go to work. You will work for 50 years. Travel, test life and have some fun when you are young and not locked into a life. Love from a distance is hard. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
