Fighting For Life

Fighting For Life

A Poem by Margarette
"

Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither

"

In this dark and gloomy night

I want you to go towards that light

Make those nightmares out of my sight

And participate in this glorious fight

For I know your future’s shining bright

Show us your hidden might

In this blinding world of black and white

Deliver the final blow with your right

Don’t worry it will be all right

We cheered while others showed fright

At you, a mere amateur, deserving of height

For now, don’t think about the next fight

Relax, be calm and sleep tight

Author's Note

Margarette
Innocent people tend to become illegally accused of crimes and other wrongdoings that have been forced to them by people who only care about their fame and wealth. They made them do acts of stealing, killing and other things in an attempt to cover their mistakes and selfishness. Moreso if those people are experiencing the darkest phase of their lives (situations like financial problems, depression, hatred, doubt and still many others). They became the target of those evil eyes lurking just around the corner and when the prey is right in front of them, they jump onto the person and slowly tear him/her apart from the inside. Usually, their consciences do not control their own actions because they are all used to it. We must always be careful when showing our weaknesses. We should not let them do whatever they want. We should not be their playthings. Lastly, we own our lives; no one can take it away from us. We decide. We choose. We live.

This poem and the description are very empowering to the audience. The visuals really struck my heart as well. You are the ultimate motivational speaker and I can tell you would inspire anyone who reads this.

A goal for humanity is the freedom of choice. It is when people are ignorant, innocent of the knowledge of choice, that they then could become the prey of the horrors of the predators.
Excellent.

well written poem you have here, personally i'm not too fan of the ending word rhyme each time, it distracted me from paying attention to the actual words

Thank you for this. It wasn't written about my situation but it was very encouraging :) I read it three times lol

This is an incredibly well-crafted write...the way you're able to rhyme so consistently without disrupting the flow or the message it relays is really something :)

Oppression takes many guises, but always has victims in what are percieved to be the weak. Why being poor or from a different class or race makes people think this is weakness i have no idea, as I believe you have to show more strength in adversity just to keep your head above the water.
Maybe one day equality will win, but until then, others greed will continue.
Lovely piece.
