How I Learned To Love

How I Learned To Love

A Poem by Margarette
"

It's like trying to describe what you feel when you're standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon or the birth of your child. You have to be there to really know what it's like.

"

The last kiss we've had

Painful and so full of sorrow

The smell of tobacco still lingers

In that hauntingly dark past

By this time

I'm still wondering

Where you are by now

Do you also think of me?

You were always going to be

The first one to capture my heart

I will always remember

Those cherishing memories with you

You taught me how to love

You were the one to help me

Write my own love story

And together made the ending

I wanted time to stop

And not move forward

It's just that I'm now alone

I never wanted to forget

By this time

I'm still staring

At our picture taken at our first date

Do you also look at this?

You will always remain in my heart

There will be that special place

That I chose for you inside me

And I hope you would also do that

My love for you will remain pure

I know I can fall in love

With another person someday

And I know, for sure,

You'll also be happy with someone

Author's Note

Margarette
When everything happens to you when you're so young, you're very lucky, but by the same token, you're never going to have that same feeling again. The first time anything happens to you - your first love, your first success - the second one is never the same.

this was written with such beautiful sentiment that I almost forgot to be objective.
So when I reread I found some really cool cross sections that really reinforced the story being told which means I was completely justified in my first feeling which was my heart strings bleeding sounds of serenity in a moment that was fleeting... Oh how sweet it is and oh how it hurts. Can't believe you wrote so beautify something which from me blurts spurts and oh yeah... it still hurts.

Great write!

This one tasted young...you "dealt" well...

There is so much emotion in this, so much youthful innocence mixed with the painful realities that "maturity" can often bring...I'm not even sure how to elaborate on it, as you've already captured it so extensively here...this is my favourite piece by you...just astonishing :)

I know these feelings all so well. I'm looking for specific questions as well but can't get them right now. But that's alright bec/ no matter what the memories still remain and nobody can take that away from you. Thanks for sharing - very well written :)
