Dear Little Sister

Dear Little Sister

A Poem by ScaredSilent

Dear Little Sister
Thirteen is not an earthquake
But if the earth could fall out of the universe
Then it is falling
Your footsteps echo down cavernous hallways
Tattooing thoughts to the back of your eyelids
You have dreams of cutting
The extra flesh off your body
Because their words are mutilating your pride
I see you fall like a cold winter's rain
I see your heart rammed shut
By every loss and withering night sky
Head down arms crossed
You bear your soul for battle
And avert your eyes from me
You smile with false teeth
And talk with a barbie doll plastic tongue
I can't help
But remember the girl smiling
In the midnight sun
Whispering the night away with secrets
Real and beautiful
I hope that fourteen is brave
I hope that fourteen is magnificent
I hope that you walk down the hall
With magick in your feet
I hope that when fourteen arrives
You won't care if earth is falling
Away from the universe
Because the universe is
Your infinite canvas

A tad to may I' s but dividing this into stanzas will work wonders as far as I'm concerned. You have talent but try to rise above the cliches.
