Wolf Pack

Wolf Pack

A Poem by Scott Lee
"

What it's like when I go out with my friends.

"

We will run beneath this night dig our feet into dance
we won't be limping till morning, your smile was framed in my heart, we lost ourselves crossing the moon, knew the beast well when he bit us.

I heard you howl past midnight and thought it was me,
I ran high to the peak, got on all fours, let my hair fall wild

I couldn’t suppress any longer calls of the wild
moonbeams slanting violet rays through trees transformed my speech to growls
I lost any needs I had for society, got in touch w/ a deeper being not
concerned w/ vanity or status.
I want to get down on all fours and run with the wolf pack, wild and free, and express our freedom with howling screams!

I want to feel the breeze guide me to something amazing

Sleep in the snow by snapping fires that burn all night

we'll mosh in gravel pits
wrestle on rocks
we'll sail in high winds
headed for laughter
any wounds we sustain are worth it
I'll bleed for you if it makes you smile
I'll throw myself down the canyon for the wolf-pack

I like to walk to the edge of cliffs
and hear the sky give a sermon
listen to raindrops tell the trees how much they are loved
see what kind of art nature wants to paint, my soul falling in love with beauty's fingers.

I look behind me at years gone by
how many changes can one man go through?
I expect more on the way

Lets race beyond the clouds
find a sweet silence we can learn from.....

I live sporadically in a heart rage mindful of hunters while I run intrepid past your boundaries, my contumacy growing heavy like a cornice

All the more reason to break free

Dare to question everything they’ve told us

I live to feel that electric storm moment
when the music's right and our feet are digging into dance floors
we catch rides on tornadoes
and end up in random fields
limping away for our lives
pre-dawn light a shade off from the color of her Goddess eyes
inner voices running river smooth
daring to flood banks
with water from our hearts

I trust in you and only you to lead me to the edge
and
howl together
in a wolf pack.
