Silently Slipping

Silently Slipping

A Poem by Scott Lee

Slipping silently sideways

With no start or end

Between sky and sea

Cornered by my own Invasion

Swells of black ink catastrophe

Hope dipping slyly with sea lions

Trying to out-maneuver defeat

I slash and dash beneath dark waters

Imagining to be saved by your invisible reach

Open wounds gush from Great White Bites and collisions with Deadly coral reef.

I’m breathing quiet in stillness

Threatened by tooth and danger

Bleeding in multiple places

Holding fear back with experience

Barely holding on

Slipping silently sideways

With no agenda or masks

Expecting murder around the corner

Yet seeking something sacred

Listening for truth

Between lines and silent pages

Ready for magic

Between dark waves and deadly crashes

Looking for a window to silently slip out and vanish

Where?     Where?      Where?

Where is my sweet escape?

"Swells of black ink catastrophe, hope dipping slyly with sea lions" Like the way you describe your need for something greater than self. Excellent poem!
