KINGDOMA Poem by Scott Lee
A hawk screech tore through my heart in the middle of the night
I ran outside and unto great night began to look Wind ploughed down through the leaves, the bright moon beaming down, one with breath And stories. Motion felt like a child in the trees, Grace held out open hands That I could gladly receive My barriers vanished I Surrender to a vast love I could feel but barely conceive. Have I flown before with You someplace beyond those curious stars? Somewhere in secret That my hawk screech wants to be. No limits set to yield me Dust rises And is lifted A fearless child laughs And stands bright again I stare like an old man in remembrance Silver tears race away from my heart and find my face Delicious meals are served for free. "Eat up. " the child says. I cannot move but only tremble My leaves rattled by wind And shined on by moon. "It's ok I have forgiven you and the world." The child's eyes are just as bright as the last time I left him on that limited, black and hateful road. Come back I am yours The meal beckons me I take a bite And the wind is here to lift me Back to still waters Back home inside my soul Where he has been waiting to show me The way back to an outstanding kingdom of light and gold Once shared together. I am safe. All is well. We've all been there before. Now follow me we have work to do. © 2015 Scott Lee |
