On Darkness Road

On Darkness Road

A Poem by Scott Lee

You are amazing

If nobody ever told you this before then I am sorry.

No guide or teacher with eager hands to lend or show the way.

No talk of Wisdom's daring gold but thrown down harshly into a hostile world that can't forgive or learn to love across the blood red moon of steps and scars and lighted hopes,
it counts for something
this life that's led between the darkness that was given and an ache for better goodness.

I saw you drown below the surface
Ressurecting that simple question:

What do you think it all means?

Whether higher gods could lend a hand or rise inside your heart.

A feeling here
A whisper there
A guiding hand between dimming flares-o

The caution tape reflects the moods but still you walked the road.

Without direction
With just a flint of hope.

Your smiles dress the angels dreams and makes a better place to live, a will of strength turns from darkness to show the way to an alternate route to go.

Your nightmares were longed by peace and every good intention not drawn back or held down low by Love's embrace on darkness road.

I can see you now as a noose unfolds.

When courage flashed before it drowned-
igniting wings, a burning scream
locked tight into my heart
And so now your strength it burns on darkness road but don't forget there's power in every soul.

No better way to give a hand than show the way or listen to a friend.

No want for money or covet things that spread the fire for material things.

Amazingly you
You amazingly
A friend of mine that no one will forget
A splash of wild
With hints of light
That lights up darkness road.

Do you realize how you shine?

I could not count the steps of good times with 300 hands
Or try to hold it back

I sit here
In the magic sun
I see you dance and take form
In me
Every thought that no one can take or try to kick away.

A knowing comes like a child's fulfilled wish-
When the magic stalks behind the tree and floats closer to your eyes.

Who are they to say to you,
you are this, or you are that and just a slave,
nothing else
Beyond the grave.

Who defines your precious, magic heart?

I wish for you
On thunder road
A helpless plea
For burning gold

I start to scream and don't hold back
A daring wind shaping you in stone.
My tears are yours
And somebody else surely knows
This flooded place
This vacant spot
This rough and mysterious plot
To hold you back and make you drown.

But no matter what
To me
You'll always rise above
Whether tides arise
Or falcon dies
I'll still hear your words
Fast to glide
And
haunt forever my falling skies:

Forget the speech of liars promise
I'll always tell you true
No plots for tricks or scattered clouds betrayed by rain-
Could ever sever me from you.

Visions hold a feeling felt
That no man could take away.

More power in the love we hold

Down this path
On darkness road.

If now and then we encounter pages that explode, pages that wound, sears, tears, groans, and curses, know they came from a man with his back up, a man whose only defenses left are his words, and his w.. more..
