Softer Nights

Softer Nights

A Poem by Scott Lee

Softer nights to come
Nestled here when light draws dreams- a crescent blade of moon to share with you after a hard African day full of savage rejection and dark lies scattered further than darker law. Softer than snow covered mountains on blue sky mornings when crisp silence glistens holy and webs hold severed tears released by softest streams.

What need for money here?
What better hour now can u seek?
Who holds the key to your heart?

Hear them
Slyly softest steps
A moon beam through a skylight
I am Brave enough to join it
Keen enough to listen
A voice that sets me dreaming
No wings like these around
I pay tribute to your message
More appreciation than she knows. Every day your face appears even though you live below hard stones dropped off long ago.

I slept on cold ground before
But still prefer her warmth

Gone Gone Gone

Scattered seeds in tow
Wind brushed and born to grow
No feelings like this around
Kept silent in a nestled space inside a secret scroll
No love like this around
I Burn to be burned by you
Again and again
A ferris wheel struck by lightning
Going round and round
Does it stop?
Does anybody ever know?
I keep crossing over bridges I meet the slips of pushing days
No easy way around you
Bleed the pathway filled with thorns, I gaze on distance for an answer
Watch light become a face
No greater desire than soft fingers caressing down softer cheeks. Lost forever in the distance, a savage summer almost dying. Lost forever in the pulling, spilling, spiralling
Inside a shell tossed by endless waves. I still see her in the sand of silence
Roaring from inside
Soft white silent sand
Swept clean and dune hill round by a wind that shapes and scrapes
You carry oceans in your spirals, I still listen when I'm down.

I like the honesty of toiled sweat
It comes soaking through my clothes
Night rushing down in a rain
Of countless spears
Beating words upon this invisible town that taste as pure as yours.

Softer nights to come
A march of bullets
To kill the gun
I'm walking further from the exit with
No rehearsals that are done
I lose myself to silence
Softer hues that fill inside
I get lost in all directions
When your gardens grow this high.

My lips are bleeding
But I don't care
My head is reeling
But I don't care
My soul is love
And that's all that matters now.

In you there's a place to live
Even if I wake up with dirty wet leaves in my hair
Spitting dirt onto stumps that once stood a giant.

I still remember the Softer shade you brought to me when the desert nearly killed me
You were always there to shield me when the cannon fire tore right through and smashed it all.

Softer nights to come
I hear the laughter in the cheers
When faces light up brighter than the brightest Sun and in friends I find a sweeter home

There's still an important message swimming closer to our shores. Be keen enough to listen it wants to be heard by every single one. It skips and plays with colors, it hears our longing cries for answers and
Our need for creative completion.

It burns inside our heart's

If infinity writes a poem
Every word is used
Gaining crucial information on the experience of our lives

Spirit flashes and tumbles into red smiles full of carefree merry go rounds. She tumbles softer into green, she turns inward, her glances reversed, angels speak lush islands to all things, softer nights to come
Take me in
Let it go
See the heart fly
Into
A high silence streaming, transforming
Hardest stones and steel
To softer nights to come.

Their is a rhythm we occasionally tap into and THIS has just THAT rhythm to its thought flow. I could "see" what I heard...
