Burning Cedar

Burning Cedar

A Poem by Scott Lee

the smell of

  burning cedar

compliments the street

late riser   fighter

 negotiating the way words

bite down  or    free   float     a w a y.

One verse has the ability to draw blood,

as if you've been shanked with no idea of what just stabbed you.

Another verse is impervious

  free from all laws

elevating you past social nightmares

as you rise with cedar smoke

skying with illuminating vapors

freeing slaves from Artificial suns

and giving them back the Power

  to Rise

on their own.
