A Lost Voice In The Wind Trying To Scream

A Lost Voice In The Wind Trying To Scream

A Poem by Scott Lee

a

lost

voice

in the wind

trying to scream

an invisible soothsayer

lets inspiration loose

upon the world

it ripples through winds

caresses rivers

sweeps through giant green arms

surfs oceans

glides deserts

bloats sails

a lost voice

hoping to land

home

a lost voice in the wind trying to scream

it gets entangled with maple leaves and rips down streets

a crisp scrape follows you

free colors drift free

enough to make imagination's dream

enough to pull out memories

from far corners

the lover's touch

the thrill of night

the mad throng swell of countries brewing

the undaunted songs written by silence scorching a million hearts

for a taste of undying passion

a whisper that changes lives

a driving force of will that burns when night is darkest

a lost voice in the wind trying to scream

at the world and its complete madness

a creative phantasm running free behind the scenes

ripped loose by magic

changing seasons

stirring souls

searching to land in passion's field

and break chains

free slaves

create revolt

a lost voice in the wind trying to scream

above chaos in our heads

above machine ruled wars

an invisible soothsayer

who travels in the wind on a whisper

waiting for the channels to clear,

to strike,

an undying spirit-

a lost voice trying to

use tools

paints, words, pens, clay,

guitars, drums, crayons,

all of nature

to awake souls, stir dreams, flit minds, ignite hearts, tilt worlds

topple regimes, rain love, shift consciousness, lift despair

and raid through lifetimes

for a taste of true expression

I will always be searching for

reasons to believe and dream

to find connection to something more than what I see

around me

more than violent tendencies

more than mangled histories

more than hate breed

and

sordid ideas

for complete destruction of races for profits

I am hanging on the battered cliff of sanity

listening

for a lost voice in the wind trying to scream

for stifled furies, for dead justice, for everything wrong

and getting worse

I am

slipping

and should I fall

I am hoping

to vanish back into the wind

and look for flame to ignite

the song

find the voice

breathe Him in

and seize the restless heart...
