Daddy

Daddy

A Poem by TranscendReality

Standing all alone in this broken home

Bruised and battered with no place to go

Fear of him and all he holds within

Until the poison reaches his veins

Then all the demons come out to play

This time I know I can’t hold on

Daddy please no, please just let me go

Can’t you see you’re hurting me?

Moving away the fear I cannot escape

The burdens I bear I’ve got nothing to compare

Permanent scars are printed on my heart

Pain goes away as my memories begin to fade

Trying to prove I am good enough for you

What’s it going to take to say you love me?

Daddy please no, please just let me go

Can’t you see you’re hurting me?

Tears fill my eyes as the pain begins to rise

Still so much to say but you had to go away

Empty and numb all I wanted was your love

I wanted you to see how special you are to me

Forgiveness was the key all of them said as we

But you had to go before I could let you know

Daddy please no, please don’t let me go

Can’t you see you’re hurting me?
