Heat

Heat

A Poem by TranscendReality

Smoke fills your lungs as you slowly inhale

Poison burns in your throat as you feel it descend

Cheeks stained with tears as you question your prevail

Eyes begin to swell while your soul tries to mend

Heart filled with rage and unbearable pain

Blood begins to swelter you can feel the boil within

Hands at your side for fear you can’t contain

Knees skid the ground as you ask to forgive your sin

The fever breaks as you look up to the sky

You bask under the sun until the light begins to blind

Gravity keeps you grounded though you wish to defy

Warmness surrounds you as if you’ve lost your mind

You look back on the day his eyes were ablaze

For it wasn’t so long ago he took your breath away

As his body lay beside you he never ceases to amaze

Spread out in pieces he would never again disobey
