Ribbons

Ribbons

A Poem by Sbchristie

The sands of regret
never flowed so freely from my hands.
You taught me, how to see.
Showed me it was okay to breathe.

Ribbons so elegantly weaved into my flesh.
Closing the wounds I made.
Sealed them with a kiss, and you Promised.
There is only us, and only this.

I reached into the dream, that was you.
Standing there in a smoke filled room.
Sin and Sexual fantasy at their peaks.
Strumming your guitar, you played your love for me.

My heart opened to a desert.
An out of body experience to never be forgotten.
You were never there.
But your words
and your song seemed to linger around me.

It’s funny the thing is
we don’t regret, once we’re convinced
That it was all a dream.
