It's for the BestA Poem by SazakuAnother day without a say as June slowly turns to May. Toiled years sweat-caked fears paint a smile to hide the tears. Each night we wake to hearts that ache bent until they finally break. Eyes turned west the Sun may rest but not the fire within his chest. It's for the best. "Here lies the king of a crumbling empire." Carved in stone by the rain-soaked liar. Memories lost inside a fragile mind. Lock and key he'll never find. It's for the best. A splendid fate for love, we hate. Dragged down to the ocean floor seeking promises of something more. Higher may the winds lift me. Far beyond the ocean guide me. Cleanse this darkness trapped inside before I've nowhere left to hide. Wounds from wars never fought. Ever short of heavens sought. Weary for a moments rest reads the grave of the man obsessed. "Here lies the king of a crumbling empire." Carved in the flesh of the rain-soaked liar. Memories burned into his fragile mind. Lock and key he'll never find. It's for the best.
