Phantom of Frost

Phantom of Frost

A Poem by Sazaku
"

Ever-wandering phantom of frost.
Driven to follow a heart star crossed.
Drifting shard of a shattered reflection.
No longer the whole of hopeful intention.
Words a haze of luminous glass,
embracing the wind like clumps of ash.
Meaning lost to the shapeless white,
dead without the fire's light.
Reflections cast in the falling snow
of an era past not so long ago.
Depicting a boy, full of emotion,
up until the Sun had frozen.
Warmth now but a passing dream.
One that woke him with a scream.
Solitude had never been his choice,
but no one seemed to hear his voice.
It was probably better this way.
No longer haunted every day.
The simple glimpse of a smile shared
reminded him that no one cared.
Ice had claimed his lonesome heart
And only death may do them part.
Where love had a chance to make him whole
now it would melt his very soul.

I know tis but a cliche,
yet nonetheless true:
love lost is far better
than love never attained.
Besides, given time,
love has a strange way
of returning under a
very different guise....

I really appreciated this and thought this was a really well written poem. I appreciate when the words actually make sense and you can see a person's emotions. Thank you.
