![]() Race the SunA Poem by Sazaku![]() ![]() If my words were sufficient, you wouldn't be reading them. If my thoughts were articulate, I'm not certain you'd listen. If my actions made any sense, I doubt you'd even notice. Yet despite all my futile efforts I have no choice but to forge onward. Towards an ever-reaching horizon and the clouds forever drifting higher beyond the very tips of my fingers. Though the snowy tufts look so very tiny and I strive so very hard to touch them, and the Sun hangs so very lightly in the distance... It's never enough. It is so painfully in vain. This struggle that seems so meaningful. Sometimes you look down and find the beaten path and sometimes there isn't so much as a star to guide you. I just wanted to scribble this down, before the words are lost forever. Should you ever find yourself where I was, lost in the world, searching for an answer. Allow me to point you in the right direction. Away from this darkness, out of the labyrinth, through the smothering forest and back into the light. There is a journey, and there is a destination. They like to say one is more important, but I disagree. One without the other cannot exist, just as success cannot exist without a chance of failure, and defeat means nothing if there was never hope for triumph. The part that is truly essential, is that you find your own answer along the way. And when you do, you'll probably find yourself here with me, leaving a note for the ones who follow in our path. Writing down the the words so you'll never lose them just before you come and chase the clouds to the stars, and race the Sun into the night. Just try to keep your message brief. I'll be waiting for you.
