My Bright Blue Eyes

My Bright Blue Eyes

A Poem by Sayre
"

The style of progression shown was inspired by a few songs by Atmosphere. I had always wanted to attempt something with this kind of progression but never knew how. I thought it turned out decent.

"
It’s just another night
Another fight
I downright can’t win
Downstream
The current screams
The rapids begin
Uplifted by the wind
Dropped into a sand storm
On the beach, that’s where it started
The same place it had to end

Hard glares
Casual stares
I try to pretend
That these ring side ropes
Aren’t my crutches
Nor my friends
Nor a place to hide
To abide by these shallow lies
Inside the eyes
Of my bold faced opponent

He’s cold blooded and knows it
I told him show it
Before he blows it
When I call his bluff
But he’s in it to win it
By tenfold it’s bullshit
Pocket Aces in my hand
Another in hole
He won’t fold
He won’t go

Inside of my head
I can hear
His no fear approach
Within the deepest cavity
The drum roll in my ear
Egging me on
I stand up
Another round prepared
Inside the mind
Defeating thoughts crept
Up my spinal stairs

It’s just another night
Another fight
I downright can’t win
Can’t begin, can’t end
The cycles continue to spin
The whirlwind hit me hard
To no surprise
The bright blue eyes
Belonging to him
Looking through the end of time
Were mine
