Royal Defeat?

Royal Defeat?

A Poem by sayandeep kundu

Royal yellow furs flaunting gallant stripes in black,-
One proud spirit galloping long oblongs.
Quivering whiskers snarl at preys rushing back
Its glowing might prevails in old jungle songs.
Beauty of the beast in one hostile vanity-
Chasing preys trembling in lethal fears.
Victorious in a battle of supreme sanctity-
King of the woods parades this land for years.
New cold beast suddenly appears with the gun-
With desires of flesh and a flood of blood.
The king fights a strange battle of some new fun
Giving in to bold bullets, falling into the mud.
Gallant stripes remind violent whips by one hunter,-
A defeat to some haunting bullets and a gun's power...

Poetry could make anything look beautiful and elegant, and you've proved it yet again. I quite didn't get "The king fights a strange battle of some new fun", Do explain.

Liked the terms "haunting bullets" and "Gallant stripes".
