Your Hair

Your Hair

Your Hair!
How it falls in golden waves
Tumbling softly over
the skin of your neck
Enchanting and lustrous
Tousled and untame

I name you captor
trapping me in the depths
of those silken locks
Free me now! From this spell
This lasting hypnosis
I suffer so willingly

I would not trade it
Not for all the treasures
of all the kingdom
Nay, not a single strand
How could I part?

Oh your hair!
How it drives this heart
to inevitable distraction
Oceans of molten gold
I dare not swim
for I would drown
Fall deeply within
The nets you have cast
For me, your prey

Your hair, your hair!
Tempting and lush
Consuming my thoughts
My vice exposed
I venture to share
I confess myself
I am taken by you
and your heavenly hair

Hahha, I never imagined the significance of a woman's hair would reach that level! I really like the exclamation in the beginning (Your Hair!) and your claim of getting stuck in those locks, and how you can't be free from them. This is so sweet, and why would you say poetry is not your forte? It definitely is. I also enjoyed the last part, and a beautiful ending with "your heavenly hair". Sometimes I wondered if men think that hair is a veil of beauty, because mostly it covers your face, but I guess I know now! I really enjoyed, keep writing.

I cringe at the word "locks."

But I thought the poem itself was sweet. I hope you wrote it to give to someone.
