Winter was coming.

 

Teyl felt its chilling breath on her skin as she stirred that morning. She knew it was still not yet time to wake, as the soft light of dawn could not be detected from behind her closed eyelids. In any case, the stillness of her surroundings could only mean that the others were still asleep, or out hunting. She turned and pulled the furs up to her chin, fending off the morning’s cool greeting. 


Let them be hunting, she thought to herself, eyes still closed.
