Tragically, A Poetic Death

Tragically, A Poetic Death

A Poem by Savannah Bly
"

Wouldn't that be?

"
Tragically, A Poetic Death
I can't imagine
Not being able to read
Or to see words on a page
And form pictures in my mind
Because it's beautiful and poetic
I can't imagine
Not being able to write
To see my words written in real time
And to watch pen bleed against paper
Because it's beautiful and poetic
I can't imagine
Not being able to breathe
Losing these two parts of myself
I'd be a suffocating poet imprisoned in mind and soul
Wouldn't that be, tragically, a poetic death?

This one is sad, Savannah. We all grow old with time. I pray I will still be able to read and write until they close my eyes and pull the sheets over my head. I like the metaphor of breathing as to writing, because for a writer, it is the truth. Nice write, my friend!

This was a very insightful poem that definitely made me think. My experience and view of the world would be quite different indeed if I were illiterate

Death of a poet indeed! Loved the line "and to watch pen bleed against paper"!
