Pull The Grenade
We're standing face to face But there's space between us Our eyes meet And we both know Our love was strong The feel of each other's embrace Got us through our darkest nights But our love was seasonal And now, afraid of letting go Of finding new love, We stand, facing each other I know what I must do, For both of us to move on I pull out a grenade and pull the pin One..., two..., three..., We're running away Away from each other The time and place Our love existed On fire, burning And exploding, it's over In our memories, our love remains But time and place Is gone, Erased by fire And we are moving on If I didn't do it We both would have burned in the fire later So I did it, to keep us safe, To save us now I pulled the pin on the grenade
