I Am A TreeA Poem by Savannah BlyI am a treeI am a tree I am a tree Standing tall and firm Against the world I’ve been marked To be cut down by
humans Most of my family and
friends are gone I don’t want to be used
for paper I don’t want to be used
by humans at all Every branch, every
leaf is a part of me And I don’t want to let
go of it I just hope that people
recycle me So the rest can be
saved This isn’t how I’d like
to be cut down No, this isn’t right at
all Two decades have passed and the nightmare of illusion lingers in my mind to stay but I thank the heavens for
the blessing of life My friends and family
still here Because we give beauty To those who truly see As we stand Tall and firm against
the world © 2014 Savannah Bly |
