Opening Your Mouth

Opening Your Mouth

A Poem by Savannah Bly
"

when you open your mouth but you wish you were silent

"
Opening Your Mouth
I hate talking
being silent is better
because everyone questions
what side you're on
what you think
what you feel
who you are
but once you open
your little mouth
what you say gets judged
you have sealed
your fate
and chosen
your side
now begins
the arguments
and the tensions
and you wish
more than anything
that you just
stayed silent
