Naomi's shared dream

Naomi's shared dream

A Poem by Fernando Dardón
"

This happens, when past becomes part of your dreams...

"
It was so long,
I saw my kite fly so high in the sky
when the wind blew so strong.
And the sun, painted the canvas of the sky
with dreamlike red colors.
When I tasted those milk candy bars at the market,
or drank my grandma's chocolate,
covered with a blanket of love,
on those cold November afternoons.

It was so long when the freezing breeze hugged my knees
while playing on the garden with my brothers and cousins.
And we laughed till our stomaches ached.
And the leaves of the orange trees fell,
as my my mother asked us to sweep the floor.

That shared dream made me realized
of what i've left behind,
of the coins ringing in my grandfather's pants while walking,
of his little great incredible gifts,
the toys which we had fun together,
the soccer penalties with him.

it made me realize how far
my memory is from reality
lost in the past, 'cause I can't even name it
with so many issues of this hurried life,

It was so long ago,
I often forget to be a kid.

Aw, that's so sweet. I am actually giggling right now. And the November sky 's picture that you added.......that was very witty of you! Hmm, where do I start.... this one sounds so innocent and straightforward in it's approach(it knows the destination is the reader's heart) You ink the memories beautifully. This definitely goes to my favourites!!!! :))

This was well written. You told a story I could connect with on some level. Very nice job.

P.S. If you could please check out my novel, HIM, I'd truly appreciate it. I want to be one step closer to having it published but can't do it without your help! (:
