A Moment To Share

A Moment To Share

A Poem by Fernando Dardón
"

Dedicated to muy dejar friend of school: Jessy Alfaro

"

Her face turned out to be pretty,
As seconds passed among time.
But l'm not so sure,
Where her poet words are.

Years distant us from youth,
And each other traced their way.
Those who once belonged,
Are now dispersed by life.

We had lots laughings,
And we shared tons of words,
Making each others better writers,
As we delighted with heartfull poems.

And I was lucky the other day,
To stumple upon a brother,
One of them,
With whom I shared so much.

He was glad to see me,
And so was I to hear him,
And for an instance
I felt past went back,
As I knew, he still was the same he was.

But then I see you,
Girl nicknamed Narayana,
And imagined you eating the moon,
And to say that since then,
There is a crescent.

Powder covers your cheeks,
As the more you apply,
The more red they turn.
Straight and sleek hair covers your ears,
And adorable bangs your forehead.

But I keep wondering,
Is everything has to be like this?
I wonder to see you again,
My dear Narayana.
I hope you to remember me,
Ma jeune fille chérie.
As I remember last time I saw you,
When you tasted that slice of cake that birthday.
I just hope I was giving you,
More than a piece of dessert.
As I was giving you a moment,
A moment to share with a dear friend...

and sometimes we are able to have a moment that reminds us of the past, even if it is just a moment and then we realize we cannot bring the past back.
