Then

Then

A Poem by Fernando Dardón
"

A poem that reflects my disillusioned feelings for a girl.

"
Then, what's gonna happen then?
because then, I don't know what to do.
I placed my faith on you,
so did my friendship.
I spent my time on you,
I didn't care, because I loved it

But then, I don't know what to expect.
And if I give a rose to you.
One you didn't get to have,
'cause it got stuck on the strings of my guitar
when I was about to let it sound.

Then, then I shouldn't have asked to have lunch
with someone whose heart beats loud,
'cause that someone doesn't knows how,
get to place a kiss on your mouth
with such delightful words
which wished I have had by then.

Then, then I just wanna see your face.
Take a deep breath, pretend to be your friend,
But to learn to get used to the idea
that your hands are not mines
'cause time flew away, leaving me behind.

I think then is never there, for it has to come yet... you have a very interesting analogy here, it's time-related, and I wonder, as a wonderer too, always what the future will bring, but we can't for the future isn't there yet... it's beautifully romantic, sad, true, raw and honest, I did enjoyed this piece my friend.

You keep on writing... I shall come by soon for more of your stuff :)

Nice. "...to learn to get used to the idea/that your hands are not mines..." - it echos of a Pablo Neruda line: "...so close that your hand on my chest is my hand..." Bittersweet dichotomy...
