Silent HeartbeatA Poem by SaveoWIll I really ever make anything out of myself?Empty black holes, handful of coals, Shall I remain alone, and never atone,
For all the sins that I shoulder? Or will I find, a peace of mind, A warmth when the weather turns colder? My breath runs fast, perhaps peace at last,
Comes from the last, weary beat, Of a heart sincere, never as clear, As the shameful silence of its defeat. Place me in the ground, let the quiet resound,
Let this ironic notion be laid to rest, To think I had hope, I simply cannot cope, To think this is the world at its best. Years will fly, no tender goodbye,
No heartfelt tears running hot, Forever I said, as I laid in my bed,
But I never found what I sought. A foolish boy, a useless ploy,
No wonder I could not find love, The only embrace, to my disgrace, Is the earth below and above… © 2009 SaveoAuthor's Note
