Save Me

Save Me

A Poem by Jeannette Ford

I feel like I’m drowning
There’s silence all around me
And the misery is surrounding
I’m losing myself, it’s like I can’t breathe
My heart is racing, I can feel it pounding
I’m saying won’t someone come save me from me
Stuck in my head I hear myself screaming
How did I get here, how can it be
It can’t be this bad I must be dreaming
This can’t be real, I won’t let it be
A quick slash on the wrist and now I’m bleeding
Is this peace? Is this it for me?
