I let him go

I let him go

A Poem by Savannah Johnson
"

Made for a contest... but i absolutely love it, it's close to me.

"

   I let him go

Where does he lie at night?
The child whose hair sparkled
And skin still able to be seen through the night.
Does he know who I am?
That I sit here and want him so near
He no longer thinks of me as god,
As his mother, of this I fear.
I had a chance for a life with his smile,
His tiny fingers that twirl and tangle my hair
But now my heart is torn beyond repair
I long for my baby, yet his name I’ll never know.
He knows how much I love him so.
It’s for that reason I let him go.

You seem to have very good flow with your poems, and this is no exception!

Although, I am confused with what the poem is about, one minute I'm thinking giving away to adoption, the next abortion?

Whatever it is, it's great. Good use of emotion.
