I'm Not Gonna Write You a Love Song

An ironic piece on love and its many forms.

I'm Not Gonna Write You a Love Song

I'm not gonna write you a love song
Flowers and candy? Ah, no.
You'll never hear sweet nothings from my lips
And that dance that you love? I don't DO slow.

I'm not gonna write you a love song
Or wax poetry about the stars in your eyes
You'll never hear 'bout my tattoo with your name
I won't admit how you're the light in my skies.

I'm not gonna write you a love song
Won't ever hand you a ring
And those sap sticky romantic novels?
Honey, that just ain't my thing.

I'm not gonna write you a love song
Won't name all the things I adore
Won't tell you how much I love you
(Whatever you have, it's more)

I'm not gonna write you a love song
All my affections will remain unsaid
And no matter how much I love you,
My lyrics will stay in my head.

About
I'm weird. I take great pleasure in this fact, and dare you to find anyone who would claim otherwise. I put a little of myself down in ink every time I write, so be careful. The works you read hold.. more..
