Safety

Safety

A Poem by Sauran
"

This is a poem about the power people wield and their safety nets.

"
Safety

Lift my shaking hands
And aim my pistol true
The safety's on, the safety's on
And I can't seem to shoot.

Turn my hands inward,
Place the muzzle against myself!
The safety's on, the safety's on,
And I can't ask for help.

Whirl my gun against the world!
Prepare to blast away!
The safety's on, the safety's on,
Today remains a perfect day.

Place my gun against my hip.
Tie it down, it won't get lost.
Lift it only to defend-
The safety, is off.

I really liked this.... It resonates with the struggle of fighting both inner and outer demons. Excellent imagery.

About
I'm weird. I take great pleasure in this fact, and dare you to find anyone who would claim otherwise. I put a little of myself down in ink every time I write, so be careful. The works you read hold.. more..
