Azure Blue......

A promise made to stay-

That was the first mistake.

You left me behind like a broken toy,

A video stuck on repeat,

the sad scene that nobody wants to see.

Left us all in our cloud of gloom,

In a world that rapidly approaches it’s own doom.

Azure blue, like an ocean,

like an illusion that we will strive to see again.

That broken promise-

always a cloud in the sky.

‘Come Back’ we beg,

‘Come Back’ we plead-

Because your comfort we will always need.

Your smile we still yearn to see.

Come back for me- good friend,

Come back to me- my soul.

Nobody could ever take your role-

I’ll always be your Azure blue….

‘I’ll fight for you.’ that’s what I said.

I knew better than to make the promise that she did.

Because I knew one day, before this is over,

That you, my dear, would see me dead.

I’ll fight to be with you-

but when the time comes- if my destiny deems it so-

I will die to save your soul.

Don’t let this world corrupt you-

Let the memories of this world change you forever-

Think of it not as evil,

Think of it as your resurrection-

Your true awakening.

Remember these arms around you,

Not the demons that sought to harm you.

Remember the smiles that always walked beside you-

Not the tears that destroyed your foundation.

Remember the one who protected you with her own body-

Remember me even with my last goodbye.

Move on, but don’t forget.

Young one, you have so much life left to live,

To protect you was the only promise to give.

And that promise I kept.

Even as you wept.

I- Your Azure blue.

The illusion you strive to see again.
