Just scribbled

Just scribbled

A Story by Satpreet singh sandhu

There's a very famous saying that "Life is what happens to you while you are busy planning other things"
This does the work of explaining the fact that life just happens the way it's meant to be in a very stress free manner. But who is gonna talk about the chaos of restless vibes in your mind and heart when you see your life not taking turns that you marked in your road map to success. When you are eighteen or nineteen all you wish is for that magical key of that room of life where you are not a mediocre anymore. Anxiety to escape that average life that you see all around keeps you wondering and daydreaming. No doubt ur life is going at a normal pace like almost everyone around you. College of your choice. Girlfriends. A group to chill. Heartbreaks. Life lessons everything is coming your way at their own pace but inner you know this is the time to make a difference and take a leap from this average start and make it big coz u observe that no 1 becomes a institution of skill or experience to look up onto by working 9 to 5 or working to get to that salary date every month. May be that is the reason we feel so comfy with that 4:00am tweet of a celebrity may be that gives us a nArrow escape of the mediocre things around us. It causes a chaos too that will i make it big? Seems easy coz you are briefed that hard work is the solution to every thing. Who is going to talk about
the volcano of fear you feel when you know your father is just about happy that you are settling down and you want to keep him away from the tornado of wishes that the aspiring writer dancer singer kid inside you creates and you are just trapped between this tornado and volcano
Hoping for that childhood's wizard story to be a reality. Then you read those success quotes on social media
And then get that mini motivation which you think is what you need. No 1 talks about this motivation vanishing the next morning. May be you are how random every scribbled line is getting. Yeah it's all random. And the goal of this randomness is to give you a glimpse of ocean of random thoughts, ideas a success hungry and eager to settle youngster has in his overthinking mind. There is no solution as such just wanted to convey the chaos.

I wonder if this might all be in jest,
designed to see if we are on our toes.
Has this young lad but put us to a test?
To pass through things like 'no 1' really shows

an expectation that the reader won't,
view more than just the first and opening line,
allowing humor for the ones who don't.
Such writing has its place, and works just fine

to demonstrate a need for exposé.
But this piece is too short for its design,
and lets the demonstration slip away.

The art of this kind of writing is to notice things or contextualize things in a way no one else does. All of this is obvious to most people. What makes a story worth telling?

1 of 1 people found this review constructive.

Whew, yes, you conveyed chaos for sure.

Well, I think the thing that made this hardest for me to read was the grammar, honestly. I'm not 19, so maybe it's an age thing, but we're on a writing site. Please use "you," not u and "no one," not no 1. I get that this piece is about a young person, but the short hand was just distracting.

I did relate to the "childhood wizard story" and the hope for the social media quotes that quickly fades the next morning. Absolutely happens to me all the time. But here's the thing - you're writing from a distance this whole time. SHOW us, don't tell us. Paint us a picture. Write us a scene. Let me see a time, place, person I might actually care about.

Sorry if this was a tough review. I hope it had a few constructive things in it you might be able to use.
