The Leopard's Vigil

The Leopard's Vigil

A Poem by Anastasia Harper
"

An Original Poem by Anastasia E. Harper. There's not much to say about this one, but it was written when I was lonely.

"
The leopard wanders through a bleak, snowy land,
searching for something to make her existence whole.
Her two, azure, fathomless mirrors
reflect the deepest desires lurking within my soul.

A gentle breeze wraps its arms around the lonely beast
and bestows a loving kiss upon its lonely brow.
Snowflakes dance like a pair of ignorant lovers,
carefree and heedless of the world's troubles.

The leopard perches on a rocky outcrop,
silently watching the mountainous terrain.
A single raven caws, a cry echoing off time.
Why can the world not be free of loneliness and pain?

I was floored by this poem. I thought it was an immaculate, powerful representation of isolation and loneliness. Each line was thoughtfully constructed and immersive. This was a great poem, lovely work.
