Have You Seen Me?A Poem by SastinaAn older poem, reworked it a little before publishing. (Well, reworked it a little again, at the kind advice of another.)
Do you think you know me? Do you think you see, deep inside my soul,
deep into me. Have you ventured through the spaces of my mind? Have you felt my body as it dies? I am a facade of the worst kind. The enactment that people believe. I live a lie, each and every day. I lie to your face, I lie to your brain. I fight the evil within me, the base core of myself. I fight back the demons, ripping at my soul. Can you find the woman within the lie? Maybe you can, maybe you'll try. Are you sure you'll like what you find? Do you love me for my postiche personality? Watch out for me- there's an impostor in your midst. Her heart is black as Nox, her soul augean, her mind is a bacchanalia you've been uninvited to. Rip me down, break me. Make me real. I might die within this hollow shell. © 2010 SastinaReviews
