AmaranthA Poem by Katie LynnIt bleeds from crimson petals, Pouring scarlet into the air, It bursts into bountiful blooms, With blossoms divine and fair.
Regardless how classical the rose,
Its beauty will always be fleet, Unlike the lasting amaranth, Resting at Artemis's feet. It bleeds from small crimson petals, Pouring scarlet into the air, It bursts into bountiful blooms, With flowerets divine and fair. The Gods had blessed this sad old Earth, With such grace centuries ago, For us to find this bold flower, And nourish generations so. The soil in which it stands so tall, Is blessed by a goddess's breath, It will grow on forever more, It will never be marked for death. Sweet Amaranth, beauty divine, Colored by hues so heavenly, I envy you, for I so long, And wish for life eternally! © 2016 Katie LynnAuthor's Note
