I Traveled

I Traveled

A Poem by Katie Lynn
"

To the ends of the Earth<3

"

I traveled once through a meadow bright,

Filled with the radiance of light,

And watched as oft' the birds took flight,

To hide away from my sharp sight.

I paused a moment but traveled on,

Kept on traveling from dusk 'til dawn,

Towards an end to which I was drawn.

I traveled well in the afternoon,

And traveled still by light of moon.

I passed the seaside large and clear,

Sensing my goal grow ever near,

My smile stretched wide from ear to ear.

I later rested beneath an old limb,

I stooped to pick flowers by their stem,

This was done by only a whim,

But I kept on picking most of them.

I walked for miles but never grew tired,

Weariness never, from my steps, sired,

But all my passings I'd admired.

I traveled so far across the land,

Through wooded valley, desert sand.

The flowers lived in my small pocket,

As I traveled through the tropics.

I traveled the world both far and wide,

And never once did I break stride,

I reached His cottage mountainside.

I loved Him so from journey's start,

I'll love Him regardless apart,

I'd pay the price for priceless art,

So long as still He holds my heart.

Author's Note

Katie Lynn
After editing this, I realized that it sort of had a more religious or spiritual feeling about it. I decided to reword it slightly to make it more like a comparison to all our life's journeys and how we may end up in His kingdom at the end of it. Hope you enjoy it!
