SerenityA Poem by Katie Lynn![]() No matter how beautiful a place is, a place is just a place without him by my side.![]()
I found a place quite suddenly,
As dusk became twilight, Stars peeked out so radiantly, Sky unraveled the night.
Around my feet the grass glowed softly, Grew brighter where I tread, The neon green sparkled lightly, As pollen crowned my head.
I looked up as a sharp, shrill cry, Arose from an old oak, A glint of gray, a flash on high, Burst as the birds awoke.
Melodic songs drifted the air, Beauty through all the trills, The angelic calls echoed there, With the proud whippoorwills.
A stirring in a close-by lake, Drew my attention there, I saw the water ripple, shake, A beast returned my stare.
It had been painted by a god, Sunset orange and white, It seemed to give a small, curt nod, Before darting from sight.
This place was magic in each way, Shrouded in clarity, It could go by no name, I say, Than by Serenity.
But then I looked back to the skies, And watched the starry night, In it I saw his deep blue eyes, Realized this wasn't right.
Though it was warm and perfect still, It shone with midnight dew, An empty place upon a hill, Waits there, without you. © 2016 Katie LynnAuthor's Note
