Watching sailboats sail out at sea,
Is such a wondrous sight,
Looking as far as you could see,
They play in afternoon light.
They dance and they race, all around,
Leaving white, foamy trails,
As the gentle breeze whips around,
Getting caught in their sails.
A sudden movement, bold and swift,
They disappear from view,
Overshadowed by a great wave,
It's deep and dark and blue.
There beneath arose a bellow,
From below it leapt and struck,
A monstrous and great, ghostly whale,
By the name of Lady Luck.
She crashed, she smashed, vehemently,
And tore them all apart,
Until a loud horn sounded out,
And she stopped with a start.
She disappeared, under again,
As the small crowd went wild,
Though anything could happen still,
In the mind of a child.
