My Angel

My Angel

A Poem by Katie Lynn
"

"The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone." ~G.K. Chesterton, "Orthodoxy"

"
I can feel the soft light,
Pulsing, beating,
And hear the hum,
Of an Angel sleeping.

A fluttering eye,
A waking dream,
Sunlit skin,
A radiant gleam.

Such a glorious Creature,
Lain under my sheets,
In a century's time,
One rarely meets.

It's soft breath a-blowing,
Time itself slowing,
An Angel is showing,
And even God himself knowing.

Alas! Sweet movement!
A blessing to mine eye,
With the opening of its own,
And a smile and a sigh.

A new morning can start now,
Beginning a new day,
Now that, to me,
My Angel found its way.
